After reading Law at Oxford, I joined the Private Client team at Deloitte in London. After becoming part-qualified, I moved to the in-house tax team of an International law firm in London, specialising in providing compliance services and personal tax planning advice to the partners and their families as well as gaining an inside perspective into the way in which tax affects all aspects of business. I have most recently been a Senior Tax Manager for a large regional firm based in East Anglia, advising both high net worth individuals and owner managed businesses. I qualified as a Chartered Tax Adviser in November 2007.
My varied background has given me a broad range of experience of dealing with tax issues. In addition to personal and corporation tax compliance, I am used to advising on tax planning and restructuring projects and liaising with my client’s other professional advisers to ensure a joined-up approach. I am also experienced in dealing with HMRC enquiries and enjoy both the technical challenge and satisfaction of protecting my client’s interests.
My role at Andrews and Palmer represents a fresh challenge for me, coupled with a relocation from Colchester to the South West. Outside of work, I try to play golf as often as time and weather permits and I also have an avid interest in historical engineering achievements, such as the Clifton Suspension Bridge and the Kennet & Avon Canal.
